CLUB PHOTOWALK: Night Photography & Xmas Lights with Claire Gilham-Martin

COST:  $5  (can pay by cash on the day or pre-pay by EFT)

Put the techniques of night photography into practice on an evening photo walk through Perth city with photographer and videographer Claire Gilham-Martin.

With the city lit up for Christmas, we’ll explore how to photograph Christmas lights, city scenes, reflections, movement and light trails, while learning how to adapt your camera settings as the light changes.

Claire will provide guidance throughout the walk on composition, exposure, shutter speed, ISO, focusing at night and creative long-exposure techniques.

What to bring:

• Camera with manual controls
• A wide-angle or standard zoom lens
• Tripod
• Fully charged battery
• Spare battery if you have one
• Memory card
• Comfortable walking shoes

This will be a relaxed, practical session with plenty of opportunities to experiment and capture Perth’s Christmas atmosphere after dark.
